We are looking for you who are a specialist in general medicine or want to start your residency in general medicine! We have several positions to fill, so if you are several who want to apply together, there is an opportunity for this.

Here you will work alongside experienced specialists, training doctors in various phases, and a close-knit team of nurses and nursing assistants. You will have a creative working environment with good community and short decision-making paths. In the same building, we have radiology, foot care, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, and we are also neighbors with Outpatient Psychiatry. We have a good collaboration with Västervik Hospital, where most specialties are available.

We strive to have 1100 listed patients per doctor, to achieve even better continuity. Working hours are scheduled Monday – Friday with on-call duties and work in the emergency clinic during weekends. You have the opportunity to adjust your schedule and workload according to your circumstances. About you

As a specialist, you will mentor, but also have the opportunity to discuss tricky cases and overarching issues in the collegium. As a resident doctor, you have access to daily on-call duties in your daily work and mentoring time every week. Most mandatory residency courses are organized within Region Kalmar, and rotations are generally scheduled at Västervik Hospital. You will also be able to use the region's residency fund to attend residency days.

In your work, you will encounter everything from sniffly babies to multi-sick elderly patients. The patient is at the center, and therefore it is important that you have a professional approach and a good attitude. It is also important that you are good at collaborating, responsible, and can work in a structured and quality-conscious manner. Your patients should feel well cared for when they meet you.

Vimmerby Health Center is the largest health center in Region Kalmar, with a wide variety of patient demographics. We are about 70 employees, working to provide safe and secure care to our approximately 15,100 listed patients. We work with the guiding principles: open, knowledgeable, and engaged. The workplace has an open development climate. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant, and we invest in all our employees regardless of professional role and previous experience.

Vimmerby is a nice small town with short distances. Astrid Lindgren's World is an important part of the community and contributes to an increased population during the summer. The town has several engaged associations, as well as several sports clubs including ice hockey (Vimmerby hockey proudly plays in Hockeyallsvenskan), football, floorball, orienteering, and horseback riding. There are also several choirs. The town is surrounded by beautiful forests and numerous lakes (340 of them), so there are good opportunities for outdoor life. Additionally, it is only about 50 km to Västervik, with beautiful archipelago.
